What we offer
The Wellington Cable Car Museum welcomes school groups and does not charge for an education visit. However, as our museum is small and very busy, school groups must be pre-booked with the museum.

If a school group has not been pre-booked, we regret that we will be unable to admit you to the museum out of fairness to our other visitors.
To enhance your visit, we can offer you a choice of curriculum-linked programmes in three areas (social sciences, technology and tourism) and for three age groups (5-6 years, 7-9 years and 10-12 years). These programmes have been developed by our education adviser and can be delivered by our trained staff if required.

Planning your visit
1. Any questions? Please contact us on ph (04) 475 3578 or cablecar@wmt.org.nz
2. Make a booking by emailing cablecar@wmt.org.nz. Please provide as much information as possible including date and time of visit, numbers in your group and contact details. This will help us make the booking process quick and easy for you.
3. We will then send you confirmation of your booking. If we are unable to accommodate your preferred time, we will endeavour to offer you an alternative.
4. If you would like to use our education resources, see below to view and download the relevant worksheets. Please note that you will need to print sufficient copies for your class and bring them on your visit, as we do not hold many copies at the museum.
5. Plan your trip! The museum is at the top of the cable car route and cable cars run every ten minutes (click here for details). We suggest you allow 30 to 45 minutes for your visit.
We look forward to hosting you at the Wellington Cable Car Museum.
