Restoring Grip Car No. 3
About the restoration Moving the car Work in progress Triumphant return

After retiring from active service, Grip Car 3 languished in storage for many years before being taken across to the Wairarapa for restoration at the Wheelwright Shop, Gladstone.

It left Wellington in November 2004 on the back of a truck – becoming the first cable car to cross the Rimutakas!
